I was so pumped about this coming out, the trailer looked pretty good, and it was a Tim Burton film so that automatically made it cool, and then there's Johnny Depp But it's had so many negative reviews since it's release that I'm tossing up whether or not this film is worth my money.

Has anyone seen this yet? and actually enjoyed it?

GO! has picked up the rights to The Inbetweeners yay!

This show's awesome, lots of hilarious moments. It's pretty much about a group of friends navigating their way through the final years of high school. If you haven't seen it, you'll definitely have to check it out.
Oh and it's from E4, the same channel that brought us Skins.

Anyone else watch skins?

I've only seen the first two series, and they were pretty good. Apparently the whole cast (basically) is replaced for the third season which would be a massive risk, as one of the first things you learn about successful TV shows is that they're based on creating characters first then finding a situation for them, not trying to make the situation then force characters into it. Anyway I won't judge that until I watch it.

From today, we will now be able to lodge complaints about commercial free-to-air networks electronically, with the launch of a new system via the Free TV Australia website.

It does not cover the ABC, SBS or Pay TV channels, but feel free to bitch and moan as much as you want about Seven, Nine, TEN and any regional affiliates.

Complaints concerning the commercial Code of Practice, which includes those regarding:

program classification; accuracy, fairness and respect for privacy in news and current affairs; the amount of non-program matter on television; and placement of commercials and program promotions

How to play?
The original poster will trawl the internet for a cute (hopefully) picture of a person/animal/creature or group picture and link the image to the thread.

Other people takes turns guessing the character name (or real name). The winner who gives the right answer get to pick a new picture.

If the picture happens to be a group picture, then guessing the name of the show correctly is good enough.

Stupid answers like "your mom", or "a bunch of idiots" may result in magical things happening to your post - magical, things, sparkly magical things. So no stupid answers, yah?

When linking, try not to disclose the picture source in the url if it is very obvious. e.g. images links like www.fox.com/24/pics/bauer_238461.jpg is a dead giveaway.

What I realise the weekly weigh-ins are a big joke, my world fell apart.

There is no way a person can lost 17 kg in one week.

Then, there is the part about running a marathon after only 11 weeks of training. Even an average person need to train for months.

So fat (no offence) people do take time to disintegrate.

24 Season 8

24 season 8 is up to episode 5 in the US. I'm glad CTU's back, but it's a bit strange. I think they've realised that they've killed off too many people. Jack is the only character left from season 1 and Chloe second from season 3/4 (whenever she came) and then everyone else is from season 7 or new.

The UK gets the two part special on Christmas Day and New Years Day however there is no airdate for Australia as of yet.

Channel Nine are spamming their Top Gear ads, but when is it actually coming? SBS finished with season 13, so I assume nine will start with 14, but it's already aired and finished in the UK.

I don't think it has aired here in Australia yet, but I'm assuming it will at some point this year. Someone showed me a few clips of it on youtube a couple of weeks ago, it looks pretty cool.

Basically James May looks at the history of a different toy in each episode, then does super awesome things with them. Like the one I saw on Scalextric he reconstructed a racing circuit in full size using scalextric tracks, then raced two cars on it. There's another one where he builds a full size house out of Lego. Pretty awesome stuff.

This is a touchy topic so we'll have to see how it goes.

Why is it illegal to download TV shows? It's free to watch them on TV and it's free to record them to Tivo, set top box, PC etc. So what's wrong with downloading someone else's recording? How is that different?

24 Movie Gets Writer

"JACK Bauer's coming to the big screen.

Twentieth Century Fox has hired writer Billy Ray, who scribed Russell Crowe's State of Play and Jodie Foster's Flightplan, to turn the TV series 24 into a movie.

Ray's successful pitch, Variety reports, takes Bauer to Europe. It is understood that Kiefer Sutherland, who's also an executive producer on the series, has approved the script.

Fox doesn't have a deal for a ninth season of 24 and hasn't yet decided whether to order another season. Insiders said the network is waiting to see this week's ratings before making a decision, but the betting is that this season will be the final one."

I saw the trailer for this tonight and I was like 'hey, that's kinda like Thank God You're Here!' so I googled it (as you do) and turns out it's pretty similar.

It's made by the same peeps as Spicks and Specks and as I understand it, it's a whodunit game show with a 'comedic twist'.

Apparently Cal Wilson is the show's host and in each episode, she'll be 'joined by a special guest detective – a well-known comedian - who has to solve a murder in front of a live studio audience. They will have no script – just witness statements, footage flashback and forensic evidence. The suspects then all return to the scene of the crime where our novice detective will make their accusation. '

'Each episode will also feature an ensemble of well-known Australian performers, in the different roles as suspects and victims.'

Doesn't sound too bad. It starts on Friday at 8pm on ABC1.

So basically I wasted my day looking at the history of Thunderbirds because I heard it mentioned in a podcast this morning. I was shocked to find there are only 32 episodes over 2 seasons.

Apparently Gerry Anderson wanted to get the rights back in 08/09 and make a new series, but he couldn't

Well today was one of the best days of my life, went to watch the Tennis and bought tickets to watch Ana Ivanovic. I was surprised to see that I got front row seats and was very close to the action. After watching Ana win the match I rushed up to the rails and had my balls signed. God what a Day and what a Girl.

So did anyone else go to the Australian Open?
